HB's Brett Simpson Wins Hurley US Open Of Surfing 09; Huntington Beach

That's right! Our Local HB Surfer wins Big in his Hometown of Huntington Beach,CA.We are all extremely excited and thrilled that our Local Brett Simpson 24; was this years US Open Champ winning the $100,000 being put up by Hurley this year. Way to go Brett!

US Open Of Surfing Hits Huntington Beach

So I am finally caught up with all Kait Emerson orders and taking a brief hiatus to spend some quality time this summer with the Kids and to finish up on the new designs for fall. I hope to open the Etsy Shop back up in a few weeks. I have lots of adorable pieces to introduce. I know your just going to love them... SO hold tight & stay tuned for KED updates.. Today we had some fun.. at the US Open of Surfing here in Huntington Beach..
Every year in late July I look forward to hitting the beach to watch Pro-Surfers from near and far compete to win the Champion title of the US Open of Surfing. Today, the kids & I hit the beach early before the thousands of people flock to the beach to watch. This weekend the amount of visitors the city will have will be well over 100,000. For the last 8 years we lived in the heart of the Dwtn HB area; walking distance to the action. This made going to the event a whole lot more convenient & less stressful. No parking issues to deal with and close enough to take the kids home quickly if need be. Today however, Driving the 10 min worked out just fine.



In addition, to all the surf action there is also the Festival area which was changed up a bit this year. You will find lots of vendors marketing there product, contests, concerts spotlighting Surfers who are also Musicians and Fashion shows showcasing local Fashion designers who attend the Local HS and Much..Much..More..

4th of July 2009

We are getting ready to celebrate the 4th of July. Here in HB this is the biggest holiday celebration every yr.The Morning starts out with the Surf City 5K Run, Followed by a pancake breakfast and then the Parade. Tons of people decked out in red, white, blue flock to our little town to see the Surf City Parade and Grand Fireworks show. 2009 represents the 100th yr of the Parade.
